The VP-9000 is the best VO series player that was produced. It has all of the features of the VP-7000 players plus a jog wheel which allows the tape to be slowed down or fast forwarded/rewound while still being viewed on screen. These are great machines for both editing and viewing footage.

The VP-7000 is identical to the VP-7020 below except the VP-7000 can be used for editing. This machine has the 33-pin remote connector in the back which means that it can be a slave to an editing machine such as a VO-9800. This is a good all-around player with a digital time display and easy to use controls.

The VP-7020 is a machine that is perfect for viewing corporate archives. This machine has a RF video output which allows it to be connected to a standard TV set. The VP-7020 has a feature which allows a marked section of the tape continuously looped or played to the end and rewound. Perfect for kisoks or repeated presentations.

The earliest U-matic player that was not a top loader is the VP-5000. This machine was primarily used as a playback machine for corporate and informational U-matic films. These machines do have 33-pin connectors which allows them to be controlled by a remote control. This machine could be used as an editing slave for the VO-5850, which was the editing machine for the VO-5000 series of machines.
